About us

Every year we collect and split our own firewood. Of course this starts off with the chainsaw and living in a windy valley there are always trees to clean up and use. The challenging part is to get it all split. However, this changed when we were introduced to the Logmatic Log Splitter. As a family, (including our 14 year old son who chops a lot of kindling and firewood) we were blown away by the speed and ease of using this tool. Very quickly we were convinced it was a product we wanted to share with as many people as possible.

We are now the Logmatic Distributors for New Zealand and Australia. Together with our two children we live on a 23 hectare farm outside Nelson, in a beautiful location. As well as pasture and a diverse range of animals, we have an amazing variety of trees, from Redwood, Douglas Fir, Beech and Larch to the more common Pine, Poplar, Gum and Manuka.

We believe the Logmatic is one of those tools that the more you use it, the more you love it.

What we have found most helpful is to use it in the correct way. A solid surface underneath will improve results. Something as simple as a piece of plywood on a firm base like gravel or concrete. The Logmatic Splitting Basket, or if you haven’t got one yet, a wide profile tyre around the logs, is a great safety measure. It makes it easy to split a number of logs in one go, plus it means the logs won’t fall over anymore. One important tip is to wear gloves, to avoid any blisters (gardening gloves are fine, though the gel padded Logmatic gloves are even better) and maybe ear plugs if you are doing heaps in one go.

If you have any questions about this product, we are here to help. Feel free to contact us. We have absolutely no reservations in recommending the Logmatic,

Happy splitting!
